The Adirondack Lake Champlain Chapter of American Legion Riders, rides out of American Legion Post 1619 Morrisonville, NY. Our chapter of Legion Riders raises money with rides, for many area charities each year. In 2009, our biggest fund raising event will be co-hosting a three day bike event, at the Clinton County Fairgrounds August 7,8,&9. This will be the second year for this event. Our inaugural event was successful enough to allow us to assist 4 very needy area residents with severe health issues. We are located in a very scenic area on Lake Champlain, surrounded by the Adirondack Mountains. It is less than 1 hour from event headquarters to Montreal, Canada, Lake Placid, NY , and Burlington, VT and the Green Mountains. We are just over 2 hours north of Albany, NY The event will include a poker run, bike games,a bike show, live music, vendors, etc. . For your convenience there is ample room for tent camping with public rest rooms and showers on the Fairgrounds, as well as several food vendors to serve you . There are also full hook up campsites (for a small fee) for anyone attending with a camper needing electric, water, and sewer. These campsites are first come, first serve. The Fairgrounds also has multiple large buildings for vendor use. Some spaces individually locked, and others with multiple vendors in a building . There is also space for vendor trailers and tent displays. For your convenience local motels are also listed here on our site.
The Clinton County Fairgrounds is approximately 2 miles west from exit 37 off I-87 in Plattsburgh, NY. Plattsburgh is home to dealerships for Harley Davidson, Honda, Suzuki,Kawasaki, and Yamaha. There are many fine restaurants in Plattsburgh, some of which will also be listed here on our website for your convenience. There is a tremendous amount of conveniences and services in this area , as well as many many scenic routes for enjoyable riding.
Please try our event , you won't be disappointed.

The EASY RIDER Traveling Road Show The two motorcycles that were in the movie Easy Rider, are two of the most recognizable motorcycles of all time. The movie was the first independent movie to ever be released by a major studio. This was in 1969. Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda became instant celebrities with the movie which also starred Jack Nicholson. We will have the Captain America Chopper, with it's Red, White, and Blue Stars and Stripes tank, and the Billy Bike with it's distinctive Orange Flamed tank on display at the Rally friday through sunday. The Easy Rider Traveling Road Show includes the display of the two choppers, several autographed items, pictures, and posters, and the music sound track from the movie which will play in the booth. Have your picture taken with the bikes.
